Goldenye Reloaded Review
Goldeneye Reloaded 007 is very much a re-make of the 2010 Wii game (Goldeneye) all menus and missions will be recognised by previous owners; however the graphics have been remodelled so you can now play the game in glorious HD. The developers have also added a ton of new features to keep the player occupied and coming back for more. The title is available for PS3 and Xbox 360, the PS3 version making full use of its PlayStation Move accessory.
Once you've switched on the game and have sorted out your profile, the game presents you with three main gameplay options. Career, MI6 Ops, and Multiplayer. MI6 Ops can be considered as the practice/training segment of the title. It allows you play through several different scenarios including: Elimination, Stealth and Defence. Completing and Excelling in these missions will earn you stars, which vary on the difficulty level. The more stars you earn, the more mission you unlock.
Within the multiplayer tab you’ll find two further options; Online and Split Screen. Split Screen being a great option for those who want a quick match with their friends, this feature doesn't quite stand up to the likes of the COD games. But it doesn’t matter all that much. The online feature of this game isn't too bad either, yet again, not as good as the COD or Battlefield games. But it is expected for a smaller budget game.
The Career is where you'll be spending most of your time. This feature allows you to play as latest bond, Daniel Craig through many different missions and objectives.
Once you start your career there are various different difficulty options to be chosen. You go through a tutorial that allows you to get a hang of the controls and gives you any chance to change anything. This also means that those first time shooters have been tailored for. The career is fairly expansive and will keep you glued for hours. Although do try to get away from the career at times as we completed the game in around two weeks. (Do remember, we played this game non-stop to come up with a verdict)
Well we think that’s everything. Let’s go over to the Pros and Cons
Pros
Let’s go over the Cons:
Conclusion
Once you overlook the minor errors Goldeneye Reloaded 007 is a fantastic game. Many hours of fun can be had and James Bond fans won’t be disappointed. Shooter fans will also love this title as there are plenty of options to change and new elements of skill have been incorporated. We recommend this too anyone who is a fan of the series or shooting games in general. However if you’re a racing fan and want to replicate legendary car chases, you might be slightly disappointed.

Well we think that’s everything. Let’s go over to the Pros and Cons
Pros
- Clear and Simple Menu’s: Some games and developers like to complicate menus so that they, although look more graphically appealing, are hideously complicated and are difficult to get your head around. Goldeneye Reloaded 007 on the other hand is so easy to navigate that you could do it with your eyes closed. Confusion is almost impossible and will decrease waiting time to gameplay.
- Extra missions: Career and Multiplayer can often get boring at times. Especially when you’re stuck at a dead end and can’t advance. This’ll often deter players away from the title forever and will generally create a bad word. Goldeneye however has plenty of features that will occupy the player, as well as giving them plenty of practice and might even help them get past that bugging mission.
- Graphics: Generally we expect quite a lot of games in this day and age. Goldeneye Reloaded however have raised the bar in terms of quality. The graphics are some of the best in the shooting industry and will even impress haters of shooters or the James Bond series.
- Story Mode: There have been many attempts over the past few years at creating the best James Bond game. Hoping to create the best experience for fans and shooters alike. However the story mode is often clunky and un-like anything of the themed movie. This one however has great objectives, scenes to play through and the back story will keep you entertained for hours.
Let’s go over the Cons:
- DLC: As like many newer titles, DLC is on offer to expand the experience. We obviously expected some sort of content for this game, extra guns and characters are available. However as we’ve said before it all costs money. Games are expensive on their own, without the essential DLC on top of it.
- Glitches: Developers and Publishers spend quite a lot of time on their games and will therefore make the occasional mistake. They do generally realise this though and often publish a patch to fix the error. There are however persistent glitches throughout gameplay and your system will sometimes freeze, meaning you have to cut the power, and lose all the progress you built up. Thoroughly frustrating. It does depend on how often you play and what state your system is in though.
